1- The Sack Race
Some important tips…
You can play this game on the grass so that no one gets hurt.
You can have more than one winner.
You’ll Need…
A sack for each competitor
A finish line on the floor
Playing Sack Race…
Each competitor must get in a sack.
They must stand behind a start line.
As soon as someone whistles, all the competitors must run to the finish line.
The winner is the first person to cross the finish line.
You’ll Need…
Fabric bean bags in two different colours
An angled board with a hole in its far end
2- Cornhole
Playing Cornhole…
The objective of the game is to score points by either landing a bag on the board (one point) or putting a bag through the hole (three points).
You can have two teams if you have 2 angled boards. If you have just one, you can change the rules: the teams have to eliminate the other teams bags.
This is a very popular tradition after people finish eating the turkey. Two members of the family remove the wishbone from the turkey's chest and each take one end of the bone, make a wish and pull. The person who ends up with the larger part of the bone gets their wish!
3- The Wishbone
Some important tips…
You must remove all the meat from the bone before trying to break it.
You should wash it and let it dry a bit.
You can use wood sticks so that everybody has a chance to make a wish.
A frozen turkey is bowled down a smooth surface - ice or soap-covered floor - instead of a ball.
4- Turkey Bowling
Some important tips…
You can use 10 liquid-filled plastic beverage bottles to replace the bowling pins.
You can use a plastic turkey.
